The Cystic Fibrosis Institute
Providing Cystic Fibrosis Care In The Chicagoland Area
The Cystic Fibrosis Institute (CFI) is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization founded in 2003 on the principle that every person with cystic fibrosis (CF) deserves the opportunity to realize his or her full potential, to lead as normal of a life as possible, and, despite the many obstacles they and their families face, share in the joys of life itself.
We are committed to supporting those affected by cystic fibrosis in the Chicagoland area and to making a difference by being a meaningful and active source of assistance and advocacy for all individuals with CF and their families when dealing with the everyday challenges of cystic fibrosis.
The Cystic Fibrosis Institute will achieve its mission by:
- Offering clinical assistance and supporting research investigations
- Advocating at local and national levels to best represent those with cystic fibrosis
- Providing educational resources for people with CF and the community at large
- Developing strategic partnerships with local and national businesses for support
- Following a systematic and planned approach to ensure continued success
Our Philosophy
The Cystic Fibrosis Institute provides clinical assistance and services for patients in need based on available funding. CFI partners with a wide network of caregivers that are available to address the clinical needs of people with CF.
CFI is active at local, regional, and national levels to best represent the needs of all people with CF. CFI was a driving force for the development and implementation of Illinois' mandatory newborn screening for CF.
As part of our ongoing commitment to advances in the field of pediatric pulmonology, CFI participates in and offers its members the opportunity to be involved with clinical research trials and independent studies.
CFI is committed to the training of general pediatricians and future CF healthcare professionals as well as offering educational programs to both healthcare and non-healthcare individuals.
CFI is active at local, regional, and national levels to best represent the needs of all people with CF. CFI was instrumental in the development of Illinois' mandatory newborn screening for CF.
The Cystic Fibrosis Center of Chicago
The Cystic Fibrosis Center of Chicago is the Midwest’s premiere center for CF care in a private practice setting. Since 2002, we have been pioneering care for children and adults with CF.
Our Philosophy
At the Cystic Fibrosis Center of Chicago, we believe that optimal patient care is delivered when the structure of the organization is totally focused on the physician-patient relationship. Large medical providers often have complex structures that can impede this.
As the only independently run CF care center in the Chicagoland area, our patient care plans are developed based on one principle: the needs of the patient.
At the Cystic Fibrosis Center of Chicago, the individual needs of the patient come first and we offer a patient-centered medical home model of care. We believe that no two patients are alike, and hence no two care plans are alike.
At the Cystic Fibrosis Center of Chicago, we believe that the patient is the most integral member of the healthcare team. We partner with our patients and families to develop individual care plans.
As the only private-practice care center in the Chicagoland area, the Cystic Fibrosis Center of Chicago prides itself on accessibility. We understand that our patients and families have busy lives, and we work with your schedule instead of forcing you to work with ours.
The Cystic Fibrosis Center of Chicago provides patients not only with state-of-the-art medical care in a contemporary setting, but also access to the latest clinical trials, educational programs, and patient advocacy.
